Authorities in Harris County are seeking for the public’s assistance in locating a man who they claim shot a sheriff’s deputy on Wednesday evening.

Authorities are looking for 34-year-old Terran Green, according to a Blue Alert, which is issued when someone injures or kills a police officer.

During a news conference Wednesday night, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that a 29-year-old sheriff’s deputy was shot during a traffic stop.

Green was last seen driving a blue 2016 Ford Escape with the license number SVJ6590 from Texas.

He was dressed casually in a grey shirt and black shorts. Authorities named James Green, 37, as a second suspect suspected to be in the vehicle in an update just after midnight. 

The constable who was shot during the altercation was flown to a hospital by helicopter. Green escaped the scene and is still at large.

During a press conference, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that the deputy was in critical but stable condition and was being treated for at least two gunshot wounds to his upper chest.
