Perry M. McCluskey Obituary, Death – Following a valiant fight with ALS, East Brady resident Perry M. McCluskey, 63, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on October 23, 2023.Born in East Brady on March 26, 1960, he was the son of Teresa M. (McLaughlin) and James V. McCluskey.He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a B.S. in hotel and hospitality management in 1982, after graduating from East Brady High School in 1978.
Perry also took part in the college internship program at Walt Disney World, where he made a lot of friends for the rest of his life.In his employment at the Hilton at Walt Disney World Village, Isleworth Country Club, and the Park Bench in Mount Dora, Florida, he was able to pursue his passions for cooking, entertaining, and hospitality.Everyone who came into contact with Perry felt a deep affection for him. He loved nothing more than to put a smile on people’s faces and make them laugh with his clever sense of humor.
Being around him could turn any ordinary day into a holiday. Boating on the Allegheny River in East Brady, Pennsylvania, and the Butler network of lakes near Orlando, Florida, was Perry’s favorite place to be happy.His wide network of devoted friends, many of whom looked after him following his ALS diagnosis in January 2023, will miss him terribly. His good friend Lisa Danbury of Kansas City, MO, who worked diligently to offer loving care as his sickness advanced.His niece Rozella Groves, aunt Lucas J. and wife Keisha McCluskey, nephews Corey M. and Joy S. McCluskey of East Brady, and sister-in-law Joy S. McCluskey survive him.His mother Teresa, brother James, and father James V. all passed away before him. All of Perry McCluskey’s services will be private.East Brady’s Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. is in charge of making the arrangements.Donations to The ALS Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209, or the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department, 701 Graham Street, East Brady, PA 16028, may be donated in Perry’s honor in place of flowers.
