Lea Michele says becoming a mother to her now one-year-old son Ever Leo Reich 'softened' her
She’s became a mother for the first time in August last year.
And on Thursday Lea Michele, 35, opened up about motherhood in a new interview with Extra.
The former Glee cast member said her 14-month-old son Ever Leo – whom she shares with husband Zandy Reich, 39 – softened her.

When asked what she’s learned since becoming a mom she said: ‘I feel like it definitely has softened me a lot and I probably could have used a little softening, and he really is just the thing that has changed me the most and I’m so grateful.’
Additionally, her young child inspired her to record music, which shaped up to be a lullaby album.
Michele laid down eight cover songs for the music project, and Kacey Musgraves’ Oh, What A World is one of the selections.
The idea to sing a rendition of the tune came to mind soon after she learned she was expecting.

‘I left the doctor’s office completely surprised. We’d been trying for a while and unsuccessfully, and then this very surprise miracle happened… and the first thing I did was I put my headphones in and I listened to Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour,’ she recalled.
‘What A World came on… and the minute I heard that song and the lyrics, I was like, ‘This is going to be on a lullaby album that I make.”
The project will be available Friday, November 5, and the title, Forever, pays tribute to her little boy.

Early on Thursday morning the singer took to Instagram where she interacted with her 6.7 million followers.
She posed in a beige long-sleeve mini dress that boasted button along the bodice.
Thanking her glam squad, she wrote: ‘My son has molars coming in and woke up 4 times last night.. but thanks to a genius team they helped pull this mama together to look and feel good for a long press day!’

The actress is set to return to Broadway soon for a one-night-only concert to benefit The Actors Fund.
On November 15 at the Imperial Theatre she’ll be joined by some of the original cast of Spring Awakening.
‘The theater that we’re going to be performing at was the theater that I did my very first Broadway show when I was 8 years old,’ she revealed. ‘There’s a lot of emotion. I’m either going to need a very big drink or a very big box of tissues.’
