Chris McKendry began her media career at WJLA-TV after her University education. Chris moved to the American Broadcasting Commission (ABC) where she filled in as a games correspondent.

On July 27, 1996, she first anchored Sports Center shifting to ESPNEWS for the launch of the 24-hour sports news network.

In the same year, she returned to Sports Center, co-hosting the weekend morning and weekday 6 p.m. editions of the network’s flagship news and information program.
